Special Model Exams - Jan 2010

As a part of the "வழிகாட்டி" program, model exams in Maths, Physics and Chemistry were conducted for XII students of 3 Govt. schools in Theni District - Allinagaram, Lakshmipuram and Koduvilarpatti. Around 212 students participated in the special model exams organised by Parasuram Salammal Trust (PST) in association with the Rotary Club of Theni.

The students who secured the I, II and III ranks in the special model exams were awarded cash prizes  as incentives for the performances. A prize distribution ceremony was organised on February 24, 2010 together with the Rotary Club of Theni, where Rtn. DGN. Kumanan distributed the cash prizes  sponsored by the Trust, to the toppers of the model exams. The ceremony was attended by the Headmasters, teachers, students (along with several parents) from several govt. schools. Teachers and Headmasters from other schools also evinced interest in doing a similar event in their schools. The Director of the Trust, Mr. Asokan assured that the number of schools in which these special models exams are conducted would be increased in 2011.

Competitions for students of Oonjampatti Middle school - February 2011

As a part of its regular efforts  to encourage the interest among students of rural schools towards co-curricular activities, Drawing competition (Std I,II & III), Patriotic / Bharathiyar songs competition (Std IV & V) and Thirukkural recitation competition (Std VI, VII & VIII) were organised by PST for the students of Panchyat Union Middle school, Oonjampatti on February 16, 2011.  First, Second and Third prizes were distributed for the students, which included gifts and certificates awarded by the trust.




The competitions covered all the 225 students of the school, who participated enthusiastically. Headmistress of the school Ms. Meenakshi thanked the Trust, on behalf of her students and the staff members, for conducting these events this year too in their school (last year Drawing competitions were organised) and encouraging the interest among the rural students towards extra-curricular activities. She placed a request to the Trust to continue such events every year in their school and promised full support from her side for such events, which she felt would help in improving the hidden talents of these students.
